Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of relations with Parliament and Government Spokesperson Mustapha Baitas has placed the blame for the delay in completing the desalination plant project in Casablanca on the previous government, led by Saad-Eddine El Othmani.
In an official press briefing last Thursday, Baitas categorically denied that the government of Aziz Akhannouch had caused any delays, instead holding the previous government responsible.
The government official stated that “the delay was in time,” referring to the previous period, while emphasizing that “there is no delay now,” explaining that the project has a large budget and high technical specifications.
Baitas’s remarks come in response to criticism regarding the pace of progress on the desalination plant project, which is crucial for addressing water scarcity in Casablanca and the surrounding region. He assured the public that the Akhannouch government is committed to expediting the project’s completion and ensuring its successful implementation.
The government spokesperson’s statement underscores the Akhannouch government’s focus on addressing water security challenges and its commitment to providing reliable water supplies for all citizens. The desalination plant project is a key component of this strategy, and the government is taking all necessary measures to ensure its timely completion.
