Departure from Morocco
The Belgian Prime Minister, Alexander De Croo, left Morocco today at the end of his visit to the kingdom, on the occasion of the third meeting of the Joint High Committee for the Morocco-Belgium Partnership, chaired by Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch.
Farewell at the Airport
As he departed from Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch bid farewell to the Belgian Prime Minister.
After a display by the Royal Navy, which saluted him, Prime Minister Akhannouch greeted Mr. De Croo, as well as the Moroccan Ambassador to Belgium, Mohamed Aamer, the Belgian Ambassador to Rabat, Veronique Boudy, and the Governor of the Nouaceur region, Abdellah Chatir.
Visit Highlights
The Belgian Prime Minister arrived in Rabat last Sunday leading a significant delegation including government officials and businessmen. He, along with Prime Minister Akhannouch, chaired the third meeting of the Joint High Committee for the Morocco-Belgium Partnership, which concluded with the signing of two memoranda of understanding and a roadmap for cooperation.
Future Cooperation
In a joint statement, Morocco and Belgium reaffirmed their commitment to deepen their relations towards establishing a strategic partnership for the future. They also expressed their determination to enhance trade, investments, and cooperation in the fields of climate and energy transition through the development of renewable energies and green initiatives.
Recognition of Reforms
Belgium praised the reforms undertaken by Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI over the past twenty-five years, aiming to create a more dynamic Moroccan society and economy.
Belgium also considered Morocco’s initiative of self-governance proposed in 2007 as a “serious and credible effort by Morocco and a good basis for reaching an acceptable solution for all parties.”
