Taounate – Residents of the Bab Jebah area, located on the border between the provinces of Taounate and Al Hoceima along National Road No. 8, continue to face significant hardship after a power outage that has lasted 17 days, following a malfunction of an electrical transformer, according to local community representatives.

The prolonged outage has affected more than 130 families, as well as several trades and small businesses that rely heavily on electricity, including blacksmithing, carpentry, mechanical workshops, and painting services. According to the same sources, the disruption has forced several workshops to suspend operations, causing financial losses for local professionals.

Local representatives added that residents’ living conditions have become increasingly difficult as the outage extends beyond two weeks, noting that the delay in restoring electricity has negatively impacted both daily life and the local economy.

They called on the Regional Multi-Services Company to intervene urgently to repair the damaged transformer and restore electricity as soon as possible, in order to end the difficulties faced by residents and business owners and re-establish essential public services.
