L’ambassadeur des États-Unis au Maroc, Richard Duke Buchan III, a réaffirmé la solidité du partenariat stratégique entre Rabat et Washington, qualifiant le Maroc de « plus ancien, plus fort et plus fiable allié de la région », à l’occasion de l’inauguration du nouveau consulat américain à Casablanca.
U.S. Ambassador to Morocco Richard Duke Buchan III reaffirmed the strength of the strategic partnership between Rabat and Washington, describing Morocco as “the oldest, strongest, and most reliable ally in the region” during the inauguration of the new American consulate in Casablanca.

Dans un discours prononcé lors de l’ouverture officielle du nouveau consulat situé dans la zone de Casablanca Finance City, le diplomate américain a souligné que les relations maroco-américaines s’étendent sur près de 250 ans, ajoutant que le Royaume accueille à la fois la plus ancienne et la plus récente représentation diplomatique américaine au monde.
In a speech delivered during the inauguration of the new consulate located in Casablanca Finance City, the American diplomat highlighted that Moroccan-American relations span nearly 250 years, noting that the Kingdom hosts both the oldest and the newest U.S. diplomatic representation in the world.

Richard Duke Buchan a indiqué que le volume des investissements américains dans les infrastructures gouvernementales au Maroc dépasse 500 millions de dollars, dont plus de 350 millions consacrés à la construction du nouveau consulat, estimant que cela reflète « un véritable engagement américain » envers le Royaume.
Richard Duke Buchan stated that U.S. investments in government infrastructure projects in Morocco exceed 500 million dollars, including more than 350 million dollars allocated to the construction of the new consulate, considering it a sign of “real American commitment” toward the Kingdom.

Sur le plan politique, le diplomate américain a insisté sur le fait que les États-Unis poursuivent leur soutien à la souveraineté du Maroc sur son Sahara, affirmant que l’initiative marocaine d’autonomie représente « la seule solution » pour mettre fin à ce conflit régional.
On the political level, the American diplomat stressed that the United States continues to support Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara, affirming that Morocco’s autonomy initiative represents “the only solution” to end the regional conflict.

Il a déclaré que le moment était venu de mettre fin à la situation actuelle après des décennies de blocage, ajoutant que les États-Unis « continueront à soutenir le Sahara marocain ».

L’ambassadeur américain a également annoncé de nouvelles initiatives de terrain dans le cadre de la coopération maroco-américaine, notamment la participation de médecins américains et marocains à des activités humanitaires à Dakhla en marge des exercices militaires “African Lion”.

Le vice-secrétaire d’État américain Christopher Landau a présidé jeudi à Casablanca l’inauguration officielle du nouveau consulat américain, présenté par Washington comme « le consulat américain le plus moderne au monde », en présence de l’ambassadeur Richard Duke Buchan et de plusieurs responsables marocains, dont le conseiller royal Fouad Ali El Himma et le ministre des Affaires étrangères Nasser Bourita.
U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau officially inaugurated the new American consulate in Casablanca on Thursday, described by Washington as “the most modern U.S. consulate in the world,” in the presence of Ambassador Richard Duke Buchan and several Moroccan officials, including royal advisor Fouad Ali El Himma and Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.
