Saudi Arabia announced today, Tuesday, February 17, 2026, that tomorrow, Wednesday, will mark the first day of the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH, according to a statement issued by the Saudi Royal Court.
L’Arabie Saoudite a annoncé ce mardi 17 février 2026 que le mercredi suivant marquera le premier jour du mois sacré de Ramadan pour l’année 1447 de l’Hégire, selon un communiqué publié par la Cour royale saoudienne.

The statement, reported by the Saudi Press Agency, indicated that the Saudi Supreme Court declared Wednesday as the beginning of Ramadan after the crescent moon was sighted in accordance with the approved procedures.
Le communiqué, relayé par l’Agence de presse saoudienne, précise que la Cour suprême saoudienne a déclaré le mercredi comme premier jour du Ramadan, après la confirmation de l’observation du croissant lunaire conformément aux procédures en vigueur.

The United Arab Emirates also announced that Wednesday, February 18, 2026, will be the first day of the holy month, following the confirmed sighting of the Ramadan crescent on Tuesday evening. A statement issued by the UAE Presidential Court explained that the decision was based on the conclusions of the Crescent Sighting Committee for Ramadan 1447 AH, affiliated with the UAE Fatwa Council, after its meeting at Qasr Al Hosn in Abu Dhabi.
Les Émirats arabes unis ont également annoncé que le mercredi 18 février 2026 sera le premier jour du mois sacré, après la confirmation de l’observation du croissant lunaire mardi soir. Un communiqué publié par la Cour présidentielle des Émirats indique que cette décision repose sur les conclusions du Comité d’observation du croissant lunaire du Ramadan 1447 H, relevant du Conseil des fatwas des Émirats, à l’issue de sa réunion tenue au palais Qasr Al Hosn à Abou Dhabi.

The statement added that the committee reviewed reports and sighting results received from various regions of the country before officially announcing the religious confirmation of the crescent sighting.
Le communiqué ajoute que le comité a examiné les rapports et résultats d’observation provenant de différentes régions du pays avant d’annoncer officiellement la confirmation religieuse de la vision du croissant lunaire.

Media reports also indicated that the State of Qatar announced that Wednesday will be the first day of Ramadan.
Des informations médiatiques ont également indiqué que l’État du Qatar a annoncé que le mercredi sera le premier jour du mois de Ramadan.
