La Direction générale de la Sûreté nationale (DGSN) a nié les informations publiées dans un article d’un journal français concernant des prétendus retards dans l’enquête sur la disparition d’un citoyen français à Rabat en 2024, précisant que ses services avaient immédiatement entamé les démarches nécessaires dès réception de l’avis et continuent de suivre le dossier conformément à la loi.
The General Directorate for National Security (DGSN) denied the information published in a French newspaper article regarding alleged delays in the investigation into the disappearance of a French citizen in Rabat in 2024, affirming that its services initiated the necessary procedures immediately upon receiving the notice and continue to follow the case in accordance with the law.

Dans son communiqué explicatif, la DGSN a indiqué avoir pris connaissance du contenu de l’article qui comportait, selon elle, des informations inexactes et des allégations attribuées à certains acteurs de l’affaire concernant un prétendu retard dans l’enquête et un manque de réaction face aux demandes de la famille, ce qui est démenti.
In its explanatory statement, the DGSN indicated that it had reviewed the article, which, according to it, contained inaccurate information and allegations attributed to certain parties in the case regarding an alleged delay in the investigation and a lack of response to the family’s requests, which is untrue.

Pour éclairer le public, le communiqué a détaillé les étapes de l’enquête depuis le début, précisant que le 13 avril 2024, les services de la préfecture de police de Rabat ont reçu un avis concernant la disparition soudaine du citoyen français de l’appartement qu’il louait. La Brigade de la police judiciaire, accompagnée des techniciens de la scène de crime, a effectué des premières constatations sans relever d’indices de crime, les lieux ne présentant aucun signe d’effraction ou de vol, et tous les effets personnels, équipements électroniques et une somme d’argent ont été retrouvés dans l’appartement.
To inform the public, the statement outlined the investigation steps from the beginning, specifying that on April 13, 2024, the Rabat Prefecture of Police received a report regarding the sudden disappearance of the French citizen from the apartment he was renting. The Judicial Police Brigade, along with crime scene technicians, conducted initial inspections without detecting any signs of criminal activity, with no evidence of break-in or theft, and all personal belongings, electronic devices, and a sum of money were found inside the apartment.

Le communiqué précise que l’enquête a été approfondie grâce à des expertises techniques réalisées par le Laboratoire national de la police scientifique et technique, incluant le balayage de l’appartement et d’autres lieux liés, ainsi que la collecte d’échantillons génétiques pour exploitation dans l’enquête, sans pour autant confirmer une hypothèse criminelle.
The statement specifies that the investigation was deepened through technical analyses carried out by the National Laboratory of Scientific and Technical Police, including sweeping the apartment and other related locations, as well as collecting genetic samples for use in the investigation, without confirming a criminal hypothesis.

Concernant la poursuite de l’enquête, la DGSN indique que le parquet compétent a confié le dossier à la Brigade nationale de la police judiciaire à Casablanca, qui a entendu toutes les personnes en contact avec le disparu avant sa disparition, totalisant plus de soixante procès-verbaux d’audition et d’interrogatoire.
Regarding the continuation of the investigation, the DGSN stated that the competent public prosecutor entrusted the case to the National Judicial Police Brigade in Casablanca, which interviewed all individuals who had contact with the missing person before his disappearance, totaling over sixty statements and interrogations.

Les recherches ont également inclus des expertises techniques sur les équipements et appareils électroniques du disparu, le suivi de ses déplacements dans plusieurs villes, dont Tétouan et Chefchaouen, et des auditions des personnes rencontrées, sans obtenir d’informations précises sur sa localisation.
The investigations also included technical analyses of the missing person’s electronic devices, tracking his movements in several cities, including Tetouan and Chefchaouen, and interviewing people he met, without obtaining precise information about his whereabouts.

Des demandes d’informations ont été adressées, sous supervision du parquet, aux opérateurs de télécommunication, aux institutions bancaires et financières, et aux services douaniers concernant les transactions financières et communications antérieures à la disparition, ainsi que sur la voiture étrangère qu’il utilisait, sans nouvel indice. Les canaux de coopération internationale ont été activés, donnant les mêmes résultats.
Information requests were sent, under the supervision of the prosecutor, to telecom operators, banking and financial institutions, and customs authorities regarding financial transactions and communications prior to the disappearance, as well as the foreign vehicle he used, without any new leads. International cooperation channels were activated, yielding the same results.

La famille a été reçue à plus de cinq reprises et informée des progrès de l’enquête, avec remise des effets personnels du disparu selon des procès-verbaux légaux. Tous les avis transmis par le contact français concernant des signalements de sa présence dans certaines villes ont été traités, avec des équipes de terrain déployées pendant des semaines sans résultat positif.
The family was received on more than five occasions and informed of the investigation’s progress, with the return of the missing person’s belongings according to legal reports. All notifications sent via the French contact regarding sightings in certain cities were addressed, with field teams deployed for weeks without positive results.

Une fiche de recherche a été diffusée à toutes les unités de la police nationale et de la gendarmerie, incluant hôpitaux et cliniques psychiatriques, en tenant compte des indications sur des problèmes psychologiques du disparu, sans résultat.
A search notice was circulated to all units of the national police and gendarmerie, including hospitals and psychiatric clinics, considering reports of the missing person’s psychological issues, without result.

Concernant l’hypothèse de radicalisation religieuse, la DGSN a souligné qu’aucune enquête conjointe avec la Direction générale de la surveillance du territoire n’a révélé de lien extrémiste sur le sol marocain.
