La Confédération africaine de football (CAF) a annoncé une série de sanctions disciplinaires à l’encontre de la Fédération sénégalaise de football et de la Fédération royale marocaine de football, ainsi que de plusieurs joueurs et responsables, à la suite des incidents ayant entouré la finale de la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations TotalEnergies Maroc 2025, considérés par la Commission de discipline comme des violations du Code disciplinaire en vigueur.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced a package of disciplinary sanctions against the Senegalese Football Federation and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, as well as several players and officials, following incidents that accompanied the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 final, which the Disciplinary Committee deemed violations of the applicable Disciplinary Code.

Suspension de l’entraîneur principal de la sélection sénégalaise, Pape Bouna Thiaw, pour cinq matchs officiels relevant de la CAF, pour comportement antisportif contraire aux principes du fair-play et de l’intégrité, assortie d’une amende de 100 000 dollars.
Suspension of the head coach of the Senegal national team, Pape Bouna Thiaw, for five CAF-sanctioned official matches for unsporting conduct contrary to the principles of fair play and integrity, along with a fine of USD 100,000.

A USD 100,000 fine for inappropriate conduct by players and technical staff following the intrusion into the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) area and obstruction of the referee’s work, in accordance with Articles 82 and 83 of the Disciplinary Code.

Dans le volet procédural, la Commission de discipline a rejeté la protestation introduite par la Fédération royale marocaine de football concernant de supposées violations par la Fédération sénégalaise des articles 82 et 84 du règlement de la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations, en lien avec la finale.
On the procedural side, the Disciplinary Committee rejected the protest filed by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation regarding alleged violations by the Senegalese Federation of Articles 82 and 84 of the Africa Cup of Nations regulations in relation to the final.

L’article 82 prévoit que l’équipe qui se retire ou refuse de poursuivre un match est déclarée perdante et éliminée définitivement, tandis que l’article 84 fixe les sanctions correspondantes, incluant l’exclusion définitive, l’amende financière et l’attribution d’un score de 3–0 ou plus selon le déroulement du match.
Article 82 stipulates that a team withdrawing from or refusing to complete a match shall be declared the loser and eliminated, while Article 84 sets out the corresponding sanctions, including definitive exclusion, financial penalties, and the awarding of a 3–0 score or more depending on match circumstances.

La Commission de discipline a conclu que ces sanctions s’inscrivent dans une application stricte du Code disciplinaire, visant à protéger les principes du fair-play, de l’intégrité et à préserver la réputation des compétitions continentales.
The Disciplinary Committee concluded that these sanctions fall within a strict application of the Disciplinary Code, aimed at protecting the principles of fair play and integrity and safeguarding the reputation of continental competitions.
