Legal Procedures
The suspect has been placed under police custody pending extradition proceedings (preliminary procedure for extradition), under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Interpol Rabat (Moroccan National Central Bureau) has also been tasked with immediately notifying its French counterpart of the arrest, in preparation for launching the official extradition procedure.
This operation represents a new model of the effectiveness of Moroccan-French security cooperation in combating transnational crime, and confirms once again that Morocco is not a safe haven for those wanted internationally, regardless of their nationalities or the charges against them.
