Under royal directives, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency is implementing a new project to empower institutions in Al-Ram

Fez News – Humanitarian Support and Development in Jerusalem

Al-Ram – Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, affiliated with King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, implemented the project “Empowering Jerusalemite Institutions and Developing Their Infrastructure” in the town of Al-Ram, a suburb of Jerusalem, within the “Community Initiatives for Human Development” program. The project included a symbolic delivery of modern equipment and materials to 8 Jerusalemite associations active in social and service fields, aimed at enhancing their efficiency and supporting their resilience against economic and social challenges in the region.

Project Objectives and Equipment Details

The project aims to enable these associations to provide better services to local residents, especially under difficult conditions resulting from occupation and siege, by providing practical tools to develop infrastructure and strengthen administrative and technical capacities. The delivery included equipment such as computers, office furniture, basic medical instruments, and educational materials, contributing to improving social, health, and educational services for Jerusalemite families, including women and children in areas outside the separation wall.

Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, Acting Director of the Agency, confirmed that this program is part of the Kingdom of Morocco’s commitment to supporting human development in Jerusalem, noting that the Agency has implemented more than 200 similar projects since its establishment in 1998, including partnership agreements with Palestinian institutions to strengthen economic and social resilience.

Importance of Support in the Context of Ongoing Challenges

This initiative comes within the framework of the Agency’s ongoing efforts to diversify human development projects, in coordination with the Palestinian Governorate of Jerusalem and other parties, to address fragile economic challenges in suburbs such as Al-Ram. According to the Agency’s reports, such projects have contributed to supporting Jerusalemite families through women’s empowerment programs, vocational training, and protection of the city’s religious and cultural heritage.

This achievement represents an expression of steadfast Moroccan solidarity with the people of Jerusalem, extending to the health, education, and housing sectors, strengthening the capacity for resilience against external pressures.
