Laayoune – A high-level Kenyan delegation visited the city of Laayoune, in the context of Kenyan Economic Promotion Week in Morocco, where it held a series of institutional meetings aimed at strengthening economic partnerships between the two countries. The delegation was received by the region’s governor, before meeting with the deputy president of the regional council and the director general of the Regional Investment Center, who presented a detailed overview of the economic potential of the city of Laayoune.

Discussions on Facilitating Kenyan Private Sector Entry into the Moroccan Market

Discussions focused on concrete prospects for facilitating the entry of the Kenyan private sector into the Moroccan market, with emphasis on transforming Laayoune into a regional investment hub. Local officials reviewed available opportunities in diverse sectors such as renewable energy, maritime fishing, tourism, and logistics, leveraging the city’s strategic location as a gateway to sub-Saharan Africa.

This meeting comes within the framework of strengthening economic cooperation between Morocco and Kenya, especially after previous partnership agreements aimed at exchanging expertise and encouraging mutual investments.
