Rabat – November 11, 2025 (MAP) – In implementation of the High Royal Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, may God grant Him victory, Lieutenant General Mohamed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the Southern Zone, received today, Tuesday, at the headquarters of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, General Vincent Nyakarundi, Chief of Staff of the Land Forces of the Rwandan Army, who is conducting a working visit to the Kingdom from November 10 to 14, 2025.
Activation of Military Cooperation Agreement Signed in June 2025
The visit comes in the context of activating the military cooperation agreement signed between the two countries in June 2025 in Rabat, which covers various areas of military cooperation, including exchange of expertise, training, and field coordination.
During the meeting, General Nyakarundi expressed his deep satisfaction with the level of excellent bilateral relations, confirming that the visit represents a decisive milestone in developing the military partnership and strengthening coordination between the two friendly armies.
Renewal of Commitment to Expanding Partnership Horizons
The two officials concluded the discussions by reaffirming the shared will to continue the dynamic of cooperation and expand its areas, ensuring the building of a solid and exemplary military partnership that serves security and stability on the African continent.
Deep-Rooted Historical Relations Since the 2016 Royal Visit to Kigali
Moroccan-Rwandan relations are based on historical foundations established by His Majesty’s historic visit to Kigali in 2016, and are moving toward a comprehensive strategic partnership aimed at promoting development, security, and peace in Africa.
This meeting comes in the context of Morocco’s pioneering role in strengthening South-South cooperation and confirms the position of the Royal Armed Forces as a trusted partner in building the capacities of African armies.
