Multidisciplinary Medical Caravan Organized in Laajaajra Commune in Moulay Yacoub Province

Moulay Yacoub – The Delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection for Moulay Yacoub Province, under the supervision of the Regional Directorate of Health and Social Protection for the Fez-Meknes region, and in partnership with the Laajaajra Territorial Commune and the Mohammed Association for Supporting the Elderly and Retirees, organized a multidisciplinary medical caravan in Laajaajra center on Sunday, November 9, 2025. This initiative aims to provide diverse medical services to the region’s residents, with a focus on the most vulnerable groups, as part of national efforts to strengthen community healthcare.

The provincial delegation mobilized advanced human and logistical resources, including modern medical equipment, mobile units, and teams of specialized doctors in multiple fields, supported by volunteers from the participating association. This coordination contributed to providing comprehensive medical services, with a total of 1,426 beneficiaries distributed across the following specialties:

  • 846 general medicine consultations
  • 276 gynecology and obstetrics consultations
  • 97 pediatric consultations
  • 64 nephrology consultations
  • 84 urology consultations
  • 214 endocrinology and diabetes consultations
  • 124 orthopedics and rheumatology consultations
  • 460 blood pressure measurements
  • 386 blood sugar measurements
  • 136 ultrasound (echo) examinations
  • 162 breast cancer screenings
  • 120 cervical cancer screenings

In addition to medical services, specialized awareness sessions were organized for a group of women of childbearing age, focusing on the importance of breastfeeding and the benefits of early detection of breast cancer and cervical cancer. These sessions were led by health personnel from the Provincial Delegation of Health and Social Protection, in collaboration with the Mohammed Association for Supporting the Elderly and Retirees, reflecting a shared commitment to promoting health awareness in the community.

This caravan comes as part of a series of health initiatives seeking to improve access to medical care in rural and remote areas, and emphasizes the role of partnerships between government entities and civil society in achieving sustainable health development goals. Such events are expected to continue strengthening public health and reducing gaps in medical services at the provincial level.
