Urgent: An Algerian man wanted internationally for possession of explosives was arrested at Casablanca Airport

Security forces at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca successfully arrested a 24-year-old French citizen of Algerian origin on Saturday, October 25. The individual was subject to an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities.

A check against the Interpol database revealed that the suspect is internationally wanted through a red notice issued by the Central National Office in Paris, on suspicion of involvement in criminal gang membership and illegal possession of explosives.

The individual was placed under judicial custody pending extradition proceedings, following instructions from the competent public prosecution. Meanwhile, the Central National Office, Interpol Rabat Office, affiliated with the General Directorate of National Security, was tasked with notifying its French counterpart of the arrest.

This arrest is part of international security cooperation efforts and reflects Morocco’s ongoing commitment to pursuing individuals wanted internationally in cross-border crime cases.
