On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, Abdel Latif Loudiyi, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of National Defense Administration, welcomed Mrs. Geraldine Janet George, Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Liberia, along with a high-level delegation on an official visit to Morocco, in implementation of the royal directives.
Signing of Military Cooperation Agreement
The visit, aimed at enhancing and diversifying bilateral cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Liberia, witnessed the signing of a military cooperation agreement in the presence of General Inspector of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the Southern Region. This agreement focuses on training, military exercises, technical support, military health, and exchange of expertise in areas of mutual interest. It also provides for the establishment of a joint military committee that will hold meetings alternately in Rabat and Monrovia to define cooperation priorities.
Strengthening Bilateral Relations
During the meeting, both parties discussed ways and means to enhance bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest, emphasizing the positive and constructive role played by Morocco and Liberia in maintaining stability, security, and peace across the African continent. The meeting also highlighted various South-South cooperation and regional integration initiatives launched by Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which have positioned the Kingdom as a dynamic actor in promoting stability, security, and shared prosperity for Africa.
Joint Commitment to Friendship and Cooperation
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their ambition and shared will to strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries and to further develop these relations through implementation of the signed military agreement. This event reflects Morocco and Liberia’s commitment to deepening their bilateral partnership to serve the interests of both peoples and contribute to the stability of the continent.
