Trade Union and Human Rights Groups in Taza Sound Alarm Over Severe Shortage of Medical Staff at Ibn Baja Regional Hospital

Trade union and human rights groups in Taza have raised an urgent alarm regarding the critical shortage of medical personnel, particularly in the radiology department at Ibn Baja Regional Hospital. The number of doctors has been reduced drastically from four to just one female physician. Matters are further compounded as this sole remaining doctor is also expected to leave the hospital soon as part of an upcoming transfer movement.

These groups described the situation as highly concerning, accusing the Ministry of Health of neglecting the problem and failing to replace the departed medical staff with new qualified personnel. They highlighted that this shortage was previously flagged amid recent public protests over the long waiting times for medical appointments.

These union and rights actions emphasize the urgent need for swift intervention by the concerned authorities to ensure stable and improved healthcare services at Ibn Baja Regional Hospital, and to prevent the worsening hardship faced by patients forced to seek medical care outside their local health administration.
