On Monday, September 15, 2025, the Fes Governorate hosted an official ceremony at its headquarters to inaugurate Mr. Abdelaziz Allal as the Chief Commander of the Future Administrative Division affiliated with the urban district of Nsouda in Fes. This appointment is part of the recent administrative reshuffle carried out by the Ministry of Interior in line with the high royal directives aimed at renewing leadership and enhancing competencies within territorial administrations.
The ceremony was attended by the wali of the Fes-Meknes region, acting governor of Fes, who emphasized in his speech that this reshuffle reflects ongoing efforts to modernize and value the human resources of the authority personnel, striving to elevate the work of territorial administration and provide effective services that serve the citizens’ interests — a principle consistently reiterated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
The wali highlighted the heavy responsibilities borne by the authority officials, especially in light of major national projects such as hosting the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 FIFA World Cup. He confirmed that Fes is among the six Moroccan cities honored to host these competitions, which demands integrated efforts to upgrade sports, tourism, road infrastructure, and beyond. This requires coordination among local authorities, elected representatives, decentralized departments, and civil society actors.
The ceremony concluded with a call for all partners to work collaboratively and harmoniously to fulfill their duties optimally, noting that Fes, as one of Morocco’s historic cities, requires concerted efforts to address various urban challenges such as public transportation, cleanliness, lighting, green space maintenance, and combating the illegal occupation of public spaces. The wali underscored the necessity to carry out these efforts under the wise and enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to achieve sustainable development that serves the city’s residents and meets their aspirations.
