Rabat, August 11, 2025 — Based on intelligence information provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations succeeded yesterday morning, Sunday, in arresting an 18-year-old individual who holds extremist ideology affiliated with the terrorist organization “ISIS.” The suspect was active in Douar Al-Amarna in Settat Province, within the ongoing security operations aimed at neutralizing the threats posed by terrorist organizations targeting the security of the Kingdom and the safety of its citizens.
A statement from the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations indicated that, according to preliminary investigation information, the individual showed interest in the field of manufacturing explosives and suicide belts. He is suspected of preparing terrorist operations that could seriously endanger the safety of people and public order. It was noted that he had contact with a Maghreb field leader of ISIS, who incited him to carry out a terrorist project in the Kingdom and provided him with references and publications related to the manufacture of explosives.
The same source added that the initial investigation also revealed that the arrested suspect promoted terrorist content of ISIS fighters via media platforms, which incited the execution of destructive projects.
It was pointed out that the suspect was referred to the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations and placed under custody for further investigation supervised by the public prosecutor’s office in charge of terrorism cases. The goal is to uncover all the terrorist projects attributed to him and verify his potential connections inside and outside Morocco, reflecting once again the growing terrorist threats targeting the Kingdom.
