Al-Jamei Appears in Tetouan After Dismissal: Indications of a Central Appointment in the Interior Ministry

TETOUAN – Former Governor of the Fez-Meknes region, Mouaad Al-Jamei , made his first public appearance since his dismissal from office approximately one month ago. He participated in an important ministerial meeting held in the city of Tetouan.

Al-Jamei attended a meeting convened by Interior Minister, Abdelouafi Laftit, with senior officials and leaders of the ministry in Tetouan. He was observed seated alongside prominent officials within the meeting hall, marking his first appearance since leaving his post as Governor of Fez-Meknes.

This appearance comes at a time of increasing speculation about Al-Jamei ‘s professional future, especially after sources linked his dismissal from the Fez-Meknes governorship to his violation of high-level royal directives concerning the prohibition of slaughtering sacrificial animals during the recent Eid al-Adha.

Al-Jamei ‘s presence at this high-level meeting, particularly his position among the Interior Ministry’s senior officials, serves as a strong indication that he will likely be appointed soon to a central and significant position within the ministry itself. It appears that the relationship between Al-Jamei and the senior leadership of the Interior Ministry was not negatively affected by the events leading to his dismissal from the governorship. Instead, it may point to continued confidence in his administrative competencies and expertise.

All eyes will remain on any official announcement that might be issued by the Interior Ministry in the coming days, to confirm these speculations and determine the new position Mouaad Al-Jamei may assume within the ministry’s organizational structure.
