General National Union of Doctors of Morocco Sends Letter to Prime Minister Regarding the Regularization of Doctors’ Status in the Ministry of Agriculture

the General National Union of Doctors of Morocco has addressed an official letter to Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, the Moroccan Prime Minister, calling for immediate intervention to regularize the status of doctors working in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests.

The letter draws attention to the unjust situation faced by the ministry’s doctors, whose administrative status has not yet been adjusted to reflect their doctoral qualifications, despite several other ministries, including the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of National Education, having integrated their doctors into the body of university researchers. This step represents recognition of national competencies, aiming to enhance administrative performance and improve public policies.

The union pointed out that the delay by the Ministry of Agriculture in implementing this reform contradicts principles of job fairness and equal opportunity, urging the establishment of a similar body of university researchers within the ministry to mirror the arrangements in other ministerial sectors.

The letter explains that creating this body would enable the ministry’s doctors to benefit from an administrative status aligned with their academic qualifications, facilitating their full contribution to scientific research, supervision, training, and the development of the ministry’s technical and administrative framework.

The union concluded by affirming that addressing this issue under the current government leadership would represent a significant reform step, contributing to modernizing the administration and reinforcing justice and fairness within the civil service.
