Intelligence Assessment: Airstrikes Delay Iran’s Nuclear Program but Do Not Eliminate It

A preliminary U.S. intelligence report revealed that recent airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities during the latest conflict have only delayed Iran’s nuclear program by a few months. This contradicts claims made by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who described the operation as having “completely eliminated the Iranian nuclear threat.”

According to sources familiar with the report, the damage inflicted on nuclear sites was limited in technical scope and did not affect the entire infrastructure of the enrichment chain. This allows Iran to quickly resume operations at some critical sites, particularly those located deep within mountainous areas.

The assessment also noted that Iran’s nuclear program retains a significant portion of its expertise and stockpile of fissile materials, keeping the possibility of resuming nuclear advancements alive as soon as damaged facilities are rebuilt.

This evaluation comes amid a fragile ceasefire between Tehran and Tel Aviv brokered by U.S. mediation, while concerns about nuclear proliferation and a regional arms race remain prominent on the international community’s agenda.
