New Complaints About Illegal Parking Facilities: Ain Vital Resort Charges 8 Dirhams with Non-Compliant Tickets

In a new development in the file of questionable parking facilities, our newspaper has received a new complaint concerning Ain Vital Resort, immediately following our report on the similar situation at Cascades Sefrou, confirming the spread of these illegal practices across multiple tourist sites.

High Pricing and Illegal Tickets

According to the complaint received, Ain Vital Resort charges 8 dirhams for car parking, representing a one-dirham increase over the rate applied at Cascades Sefrou, which is set at 7 dirhams. The fundamental problem lies in the fact that the tickets issued to citizens do not meet the required legal standards.

Based on the documents attached to the complaint, the ticket bears no mark indicating supervision by the relevant territorial community or any official license, which contradicts the legal standards adopted in other Moroccan cities.

Violation of New Legal Standards

The new terms of reference implemented in several Moroccan cities stipulate the necessity of respecting a set of strict conditions, which include:

  • Mandatory presence of territorial community stamp on tickets as proof of legitimacy and official authorization
  • Clear identification of the guard on the ticket to ensure accountability
  • Display of legal pricing officially approved by competent authorities
  • Mandatory wearing of uniform by guards to distinguish them and confirm their official status
  • Posting of license at the workplace clearly and prominently for the public

Citizens’ Protest Against Pricing

In a protest move against these practices, several car owners refused to enter the paid parking areas, expressing their rejection of the imposed pricing and the illegal method of collection.

This protest stance reflects the growing awareness among citizens about their rights and the necessity of respecting laws governing this sector, especially given the spread of illegal exploitation of parking spaces at tourist sites.

File Requires Authorities’ Intervention

With the accumulation of similar complaints from different locations, it appears that the file requires urgent intervention by competent authorities to put an end to these illegal practices and ensure compliance with the standards in effect for managing parking spaces.

The matter also calls for intensifying monitoring and inspection to ensure that all tourist sites comply with the laws governing this sector and protect citizens from illegal exploitation.
