Iran Announces Death of Revolutionary Guards Intelligence Chief in Israeli Airstrike

On Sunday evening, Iran announced the death of Mohammad Kazemi, head of the military intelligence of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), following an Israeli airstrike. Two other senior officers were also killed in the strike.

According to the official Iranian news agency IRNA, Mohammad Kazemi, who led the intelligence branch of the IRGC—the ideological army of the Islamic Republic—was killed alongside two other officers, Hassan Mohaghegh and Mohsen Bagheri, in the Israeli operation.

IRNA quoted a statement from the Revolutionary Guards saying: “Three intelligence generals, Mohammad Kazemi, Hassan Mohaghegh, and Mohsen Bagheri, have been assassinated and have fallen as martyrs.” This announcement comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, marked by a series of military actions and reciprocal accusations.
