A security officer working with the regional security forces in El Jadida was forced to use his service weapon as a precautionary measure in the early hours of Saturday, June 14, 2025, to neutralize a threat posed by three individuals who were highly aggressive and posed a serious and imminent danger to the safety of citizens and police officers by wielding bladed weapons.
A police patrol intervened after receiving a report that the suspects had assaulted three people in a public street, involving robbery, assault, and injury. The suspects refused to comply with police orders, and one of them violently resisted the officers using a bladed weapon, prompting the security officer to fire warning shots into the air.
This precautionary use of the service weapon succeeded in neutralizing the threat posed by the suspects. Shortly after the criminal acts, one of the suspects was apprehended.
The arrested individual, a minor aged 17, has been placed under judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office to uncover all circumstances and details of the case. Investigations and inquiries are ongoing to identify and arrest the two other suspects, whose full identities have been established.
Security authorities affirmed that the intervention aimed to maintain public order and protect the safety of citizens and personnel, while fully respecting the rights of all parties and ensuring the necessary legal procedures are followed.
