Water Outage Protest in “Oulad Maala”: 60 Residents Head to Fez-Meknes Regional Prefecture

Fez, Morocco – Approximately 60 residents from the douar (hamlet) of Oulad Maala, located in the Ain Chkef commune, headed to the headquarters of the Fez-Meknes regional prefecture today, Sunday, to protest the interruption of their drinking water supply for several days.

According to observations from local online newspapers “Fez News,” “Chouf TV,” “Al Hadath 24,” and “Al Mandar,” who were present at the scene, the protesters expressed their strong dissatisfaction with a situation they described as catastrophic. They emphasized that the absence of this vital resource has significantly impacted their daily lives and health, especially with rising temperatures.

The demonstrators demanded immediate and urgent intervention from local and regional authorities to find a lasting solution to the recurring water outage issue in their hamlet and to ensure the provision of this essential commodity.
