Developments in PAM Councillor Scandal in Taounate: Reports Suggest Possible Involvement of Another Party Official

Fez – Investigations are ongoing into the arrest of a local councilor from the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) in the commune of Tamazkane (Taounate Province), who was apprehended last Wednesday near the entrance of Fez, in possession of a significant quantity of hard drugs. The councilor and his companion were referred to the Public Prosecutor at the First Instance Court of Fez on Friday, May 30, 2025.

According to law enforcement sources, the two suspects were caught in possession of approximately 125 grams of cocaine, along with a sizable sum of money, prompting an in-depth investigation to uncover all aspects of the case and any potential networks connected to it.

In a new twist, a confidential source cited by Fes News claims that initial findings from the ongoing investigation point to the possible involvement of another political official from the same party (PAM).

These emerging leads are still being actively examined by investigators, who are working to gather sufficient evidence to confirm or rule out the suspected involvement of this second party member. So far, the identity of this individual and the nature of their potential role in the case have not been disclosed due to the confidentiality of the investigation.

If these claims are confirmed, the scandal could expand significantly, casting a long shadow over the local political landscape and raising serious questions about internal accountability within the party.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office continues to oversee the investigation, and further developments are expected to clarify the full extent of the case and the accuracy of these new allegations. As always, official judicial and law enforcement statements remain the only reliable sources for confirmed updates.
