Rabat, Morocco – The Arab Republic of Egypt has affirmed its steadfast support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco. This affirmation came from the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, Ambassador Badr Abdel Atty, during a joint press conference with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, held on Wednesday evening in Rabat.
The official spokesperson for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed that Minister Abdel Atty delivered a written message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
During his remarks, the Egyptian Minister emphasized his country’s interest in strengthening bilateral relations with Morocco across various fields. He expressed anticipation for advancing these relations through the convening of the Joint Higher Committee in Cairo, as well as a meeting of the “Coordination and Consultation Mechanism” at the level of the two countries’ foreign ministers.
Abdel Atty also highlighted the shared interest in enhancing economic and trade cooperation between the two nations, citing the visit of Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade to Rabat in February 2025 as evidence of this direction. He lauded the success of the Egyptian-Moroccan Business Forum held on May 4 in Cairo, which saw the participation of 148 companies from both sides. He affirmed Egypt’s keenness to follow up on its outcomes in the coming period, in preparation for holding the Joint Trade Committee between the two countries in October in Cairo.
On the regional front, the two ministers exchanged views on a number of issues, foremost among them the current situation in the Gaza Strip. In this context, the Egyptian Minister praised His Majesty the King’s chairmanship of the Al-Quds Committee and the Committee’s contributions to supporting the Palestinian cause, emphasizing Morocco’s pivotal role in this file.
