Rabat, Morocco – The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced on Tuesday evening that the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah for the year 1446 AH will correspond to Thursday, May 29, 2025, and Eid al-Adha will be celebrated in the Kingdom on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
In a statement, the Ministry clarified that the crescent moon, which signals the start of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 AH, was not sighted on Tuesday evening, May 27, 2025.
Consequently, the month of Dhu al-Qi’dah 1446 AH will complete 30 days. This makes Thursday, May 29, 2025, the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah, and thus Eid al-Adha, which falls on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah, will be observed on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
