The Taza Municipal Council will hold its regular May session on Wednesday, which will focus on discussing and approving a number of key items on its agenda. These items pertain to vital sectors and municipal services with a social and organizational dimension.
The agenda includes 20 points, the most significant of which is the study and approval of a partnership agreement regarding the management and operation of a bus service for transporting patients suffering from breast and cervical cancer in the Taza region. This initiative aims to support the health and social aspects of the area and will benefit the “Shifa for Breast and Cervical Cancer” Association.
The session will also discuss the approval of the management plan for parking stations for cars, trucks, and motorcycles, along with a review of the specifications for outsourcing this service to improve its operations and organization.
Among other points to be discussed are the approval of the management plan for the municipal swimming pool, as well as the discussion of a draft regulation regarding the organization of informal commercial, artisanal, and industrial activities within the municipality’s territory.
The session will also address a project for issuing a public tender for the installation of advertising billboards on municipal public property, in accordance with Law No. 57-19 regarding the real estate assets of local governments. Additionally, it will set the starting price for the public auction based on the expertise of the specialized committee.
Urban development matters will also be on the agenda, with the planning of the public road boundaries for the development of Al-Masallah Square in Taza Al-Olya, including the identification of land to be expropriated for this project.
Another matter for consideration is a proposal to determine the rental value of a state-owned plot of land located on Ahmed Tahrast Street in the Swaika El-Limon neighborhood, which is earmarked for the construction of a commercial complex.
On the organizational side, the agenda includes the study of a municipal regulation concerning traffic management, as well as the approval of the restructuring of several permanent committees of the council. This includes the Budget and Finance Committee, the Public Utilities Committee, the Urban Planning and Environment Committee, the Human Development, Social Affairs, and Cultural Committee, and the Youth and Sports Committee, with elections for their presidents and deputies.
This session reflects a wide range of issues, from social and organizational to investment matters, making it a key milestone in the local governance agenda of Taza.
