Under the Directive of the Wali of the Fez-Meknes Region: Launch of Extensive Campaigns to Liberate Public Property in the Al-Massira District

The Al-Massira urban district in Fez, along with its administrative subdivisions (Al-Massira, Al-Farah, and Al-Dalia), is witnessing an unprecedented positive transformation thanks to the sustained efforts of local authorities under the supervision of the Wali of the Fez-Meknes region and his team at the Fez prefecture.

These efforts aim to improve security, economic, and social conditions, making the area more attractive for investment—a move that will positively impact residents and businesses alike.

Focused Efforts on Liberating Public Property

Under the directives of the Wali and the recommendations of the Secretary-General of the Prefecture, the Secretary-General of Regional Affairs, and the Secretary-General in charge of Internal Affairs, local authorities have demonstrated high efficiency in implementing their mandates and swiftly responding to instructions.

The authorities have prioritized liberating public property, a crucial step to restoring order and ensuring optimal use of public spaces. This operation was executed in close coordination with:

  • The Fez Municipal Council
  • The Zouagha Municipal Council
  • The 4th Security District of Bensouda
  • Civil society actors and local residents, who showed exemplary cooperation by actively engaging with the campaign.

Large-Scale Operation on Tuesday, May 29

On the morning of Tuesday, May 29, a joint committee—led by the district chiefs of Al-Dalia and Al-Massira and comprising:

  • Administrative officials from Al-Massira and Al-Dalia
  • 18 territorial guards from Bensouda’s urban district
  • 6 security personnel from the 4th Security District of Bensouda

—conducted an expansive campaign to reclaim public property, covering all streets and alleys of the Al-Massira urban district.

Strong Public Approval

The campaign received widespread praise from Al-Massira residents, who called for its continuation to better regulate street vendors and enhance the aesthetic appeal of their neighborhood—an area long affected by marginalization and neglect.

A Visionary Leadership

This initiative reflects the foresight and high developmental awareness of the newly appointed Wali, Mr. Mouad El Jamai, and his team, who mobilized all logistical and operational resources to restore the prestige and historical reputation of the ancient city of Fez.

Gratitude to Security Forces

We extend our deepest gratitude to all security agencies for their unwavering cooperation (both visible and undercover units in Bensouda and Fez at large), as well as the essential role played by the Auxiliary Forces in such operations.
