Ain Aicha Faces Infrastructure Deterioration and Degradation of National Road No. 8

The Ain Aicha commune in the Taounate province is experiencing severe challenges due to the continuous deterioration of its infrastructure, particularly along National Road No. 8, a strategic route connecting the cities of Fez and Taounate. Despite some progress in certain sections, the stretch between Oulad Daoud and Taounate, passing through Ain Aicha, remains in poor condition, significantly impacting the local population.

According to local sources, residents of the commune face major difficulties in transportation due to the degraded state of the road, with some sections turning into muddy pools that obstruct traffic. This issue does not only hinder the daily mobility of citizens but also negatively affects the local economy, particularly traders and farmers who rely on this route to transport their goods and products.

Although National Road No. 8 sees heavy traffic, including the passage of officials traveling between Fez and Taounate, there has been no significant intervention to improve the infrastructure or accelerate the delayed construction works. Residents also point to the lack of a clear vision for implementing development projects and road repairs that meet their needs.

In light of these deteriorating conditions, the residents of Ain Aicha urge the authorities to take immediate action to complete the rehabilitation of the road and enhance the infrastructure in accordance with safety and quality standards. They also call on responsible entities to fulfill their duties in ensuring their right to safe and smooth transportation, which would contribute to improving the quality of life in the region and addressing the marginalization they have suffered for years.
