Sexual Exploitation and Luring of Minor Students in Gigo Commune, Boulemane, Triggers Parliamentary Outcry

The National Rally of Independents (RNI) parliamentary group in the House of Representatives has called on the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration, and Family, Naima Ibn Yahya, to take urgent action to provide legal support and psychological counseling for the student victims of sexual exploitation and luring in the Gigo commune (Boulemane province).

In a written question addressed to the minister, parliamentarian Mohamed Chouki highlighted reports indicating that female students had been victims of sexual exploitation and luring, an incident that has shocked the local community and raised concerns about public safety among families.

Chouki emphasized that “this painful incident, involving young girls, requires immediate action from the ministry through its relevant departments to ensure legal protection and direct psychological support for the victims, with the aim of addressing the deep psychological consequences left by this heinous assault.”

The parliamentarian also stressed the importance of providing support and counseling to the families of the victims to help them overcome the crisis and reassure the community that such incidents will not be repeated, through strengthened cooperation with various concerned authorities.

Chouki questioned the minister about the urgent measures she intends to take to ensure the provision of legal and psychological support to the student victims, ensure their necessary protection, and implement preventive measures to avoid similar tragedies in the future.
