Residents of Taghat neighborhood in Fez are experiencing repeated power outages, leaving the area in total darkness for hours. This has fueled growing anger and frustration, especially as some thieves are exploiting the situation to carry out criminal activities with ease.
Several residents have reported that these blackouts have turned the neighborhood into a hotspot for theft and assaults, making nighttime movement increasingly dangerous.
In response, affected residents are calling on the relevant authorities, particularly the National Electricity Office and local officials, to intervene urgently and restore power stability. They stress that the situation is no longer tolerable and requires immediate action.
Expressing his frustration, one resident stated: “If you can’t handle the responsibility, step aside! There are young people who are willing to work and have a real sense of duty towards this city.” This reflects the community’s dissatisfaction with the lack of decisive solutions to the ongoing issue.
Given the circumstances, residents renew their urgent appeal for intervention, warning of the potential security and social risks if the crisis persists. They emphasize the critical need for a stable electricity supply to ensure safety and normal daily life in the neighborhood.
