In what could have been a dangerous incident, a road collapse occurred yesterday in the Rachad neighborhood, known as “Chlouha”, in the city of Taza. A truck carrying gas cylinders was caught as a sinkhole formed beneath its wheels. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the incident has reignited public debate over the quality of infrastructure projects and adherence to safety standards.
According to local residents, recent water pipe replacement work was not properly completed. The road was left unsealed, making the soil unstable and prone to collapse. This lack of proper resurfacing has raised serious safety concerns, putting both lives and property at risk.
