On the occasion of International Women’s Day, observed on March 8 each year, the Association of Brotherhood and Solidarity, Oulad Berhil branch, in partnership with the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration, and Family, and the Regional Delegation of National Cooperation in Taroudant, organized a celebration to honor women.
The event, held at the Family Bridge Center affiliated with the association on the morning of Sunday, March 9, was an opportunity to highlight the role of women in raising children with values and morals, as well as to honor the status of women in Islam. The event featured a scientific approach presented by professors: Abdelaziz Azdagh, Secretary-General of the National Center for Human Rights Defense; Naïma El Houssi, Judicial Commissioner; and Lamia Bouhayat, member of the Women’s Unit of the Taroudant Scientific Council.
The symposium, held in celebration of International Women’s Day, shed light on the essential roles women play in parental education and instilling values within the family. It emphasized that women’s success in this mission requires continuous psychological and social support, in addition to recognizing the honor Islam bestows upon women.
This annual commemoration also served as an opportunity to highlight the struggles of rural women in particular and to reflect on the difficult conditions they face, especially in the aftermath of the Al Haouz earthquake.
During the distinguished event, which saw the significant presence of approximately 260 women from the city, certificates of appreciation and symbolic gifts were distributed to the participants and honorees. This gesture was a stand to emphasize the pioneering role of women and to express the importance of their presence in building society, as well as to acknowledge the efforts they make both in their work and within their families.
