Fnideq: Body of a Minor Found on the Beach

Local authorities in Fnideq recently discovered the body of a minor from Tetouan on the city’s beach. The young man had died while attempting to swim to Ceuta.

According to local media, the deceased, known for his good morals and cheerful personality, was a handball player and had never expressed any intention of irregular migration. The sudden disappearance and circumstances of his death remain incomprehensible to his family, who are in deep shock.

The young man, who tragically failed in his attempt at irregular migration, was buried on Monday afternoon in the Martil cemetery, amid a somber atmosphere. Other families are also living in anguish, desperately awaiting news of their missing children.

On another note, Spanish media reported that five young Moroccans went missing last weekend while attempting to swim to Ceuta as well.

These incidents once again highlight the dangers of irregular migration and underscore the urgent need to raise awareness among young people about the risks of such attempts, while providing them with safe and legal alternatives.
