Partnership Agreement Between the Moroccan National Tourism Office and Delta Air Lines to Launch a Direct Route Between Atlanta and Marrakech

In a strategic move to strengthen air connectivity between Morocco and the United States, the Moroccan National Tourism Office has announced a partnership with the American airline Delta Air Lines to launch the first-ever direct flight linking Atlanta and Marrakech, starting in October 2025.

This new route marks the second direct connection between Morocco and the U.S. in two years, following the New York – Marrakech route. It aligns with the Moroccan National Tourism Office’s vision to position Morocco as a premier travel destination in the American market.

Delta Air Lines will operate three weekly flights on this route using Boeing 767-400 aircraft, which can accommodate 238 passengers. With Atlanta Airport being the world’s largest aviation hub, offering connections to over 125 U.S. cities, this new route is expected to significantly enhance accessibility for American travelers to Morocco.

The direct flight is anticipated to boost American tourist arrivals in Morocco, which reached 402,377 visitors in 2024, reflecting a 7% increase compared to 2023. The country aims to welcome one million U.S. tourists annually in the near future.

This initiative is part of the Moroccan National Tourism Office’s broader strategy to expand air connectivity and elevate Morocco’s presence on the global tourism map, fostering greater cultural and economic exchange between Morocco and the United States.
