Fez News… Spanish newspaper confirms study to simplify visa procedures between Morocco, Spain and Portugal during the 2030 World Cup

Days after FasNews published the news of the European Union’s study to exempt Moroccans from the Schengen visa during the 2030 World Cup, confirmation came from the Spanish newspaper “El Periódico de Ciutat”, which revealed today that the governments of Morocco, Spain and Portugal are actually studying special procedures to facilitate the movement of fans during the tournament, in response to FIFA requirements that require a smooth travel experience for fans in the host countries.

The Spanish newspaper confirmed that a joint committee between the three countries is working to reduce administrative procedures and facilitate the entry of fans, with the possibility that the European Union may take exceptional measures for Moroccans during the World Cup, including amending the Schengen visa requirements or adopting a “fan card” system, similar to what happened in Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022, which could allow entry and movement between host countries without the need for a traditional visa.

The three governments are expected to announce the details of these facilities in the coming months as the World Cup approaches, in a move that could mark a historic shift in mobility between Morocco and Europe.

This development comes as a confirmation of what FasNews published a few days ago, where the news we reported had a role in moving the file internationally, highlighting the importance of the national press in following up on major issues of interest to Moroccans inside and outside the country.
