The city of Ouarzazate is preparing to host the first edition of the International Press and Media Conference on February 15th and 16th, 2025, at the Palais des Congrès (Conference Palace). This conference, coinciding with World Radio Day on February 13th, is organized by the Draa Tafilalet Association for Media and Communication in partnership with the Draa Tafilalet Regional Radio and under the patronage of the Governorate of the Ouarzazate Province.
Under the slogan “Here is Ouarzazate: The Voice of Media and the Image of Journalism,” this international event aims to bring together experts, media professionals, and journalists from international media organizations representing more than seven countries. The conference is supported by the Governorate of the Ouarzazate Province, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Communication, the “Ouarzazate Events” association, and other institutions and partners.
The conference seeks to facilitate the exchange of experiences, discuss current issues, and explore the future of professional media in light of technological developments and the challenges it faces. It also aims to contribute to promoting the territorial marketing of the Ouarzazate region, considered the capital of African cinema, a historical tourist destination, and the cradle of intangible world heritage in the southeastern part of the Kingdom of Morocco.
Participants will discuss various topics in workshops, including media and tourism development, digital radio, content creation and media, and media and artificial intelligence. The program of the first edition includes discussion sessions and exhibitions of media innovations, in addition to honoring prominent figures and institutions in the field of press and media at the regional, national, and international levels.
