Medical Caravan Brings Healthcare Services to Rural Temhdit, Ifrane

As part of ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare in rural areas, the Temhdit region in Ifrane province hosted a specialized medical caravan last week. The initiative involved over 70 volunteers, including 19 specialized doctors, who provided medical consultations and check-ups across various specialties.

Organized by medical and pharmacy students from Fez, the caravan also distributed free medications to patients based on prescriptions issued by supervising doctors. This effort significantly alleviated the suffering of residents who face limited access to healthcare services and essential treatments.

More than 1,000 people benefited from medical examinations and services, with many chronic conditions diagnosed, including hypertension and gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases. Additionally, the initiative included health awareness workshops, psychological support sessions, and physiotherapy treatments, ensuring a comprehensive approach to healthcare.

The initiative was well received by the residents of Temhdit, who expressed their gratitude for this humanitarian effort. They highlighted the challenges they face, particularly due to the absence of a permanent doctor in the area and the harsh cold weather, which exacerbates health concerns.
