In a new step to enhance infrastructure and promote local development, the Communal Council of Fnassa Bab El Hit, in the Taounate province, has unanimously approved a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Equipment and Water. The agreement aims to conduct technical studies and finance the construction of engineering structures over the Oued Ouerrha and Oued Kasba rivers.
This approval took place during the regular February session held on Friday, February 7, 2024. Mustafa Serraf, the President of the Commune, confirmed that the council will formally submit a request to the regional and provincial directors of the Ministry of Equipment to initiate technical studies for the construction of a bridge over Oued Ouerrha, connecting the Bourda locality to Regional Road No. 510, in addition to another bridge over Oued Kasba.
Serraf highlighted that this project is part of the region’s fast-paced development efforts, particularly with the progress of the road linking Beni Oulid Commune and Bourda locality, as well as the project connecting Fnassa Bab El Hit with the Al Hoceima province. These initiatives aim to alleviate the isolation of dozens of mountain villages and enhance local development opportunities.
The President of the Commune also emphasized the importance of ongoing efforts to provide potable water to residents, aligning with the royal directives that prioritize rural development.
Serraf concluded by praising the key role played by various local and regional stakeholders, including authorities, elected officials, and the Fez-Meknes Regional Council, in supporting infrastructure projects and fostering development in the Taounate province. He affirmed that these initiatives reflect a commitment to sustainable and inclusive development for mountain communities.
