As part of the national campaign to review and catch up on measles vaccination for children under the age of 18, the Zerarda community in Taza region witnessed, on Thursday, February 6, 2025, a major awareness campaign targeting students in educational institutions, in partnership with the Regional Delegation for Health and Social Protection in Taza, under the supervision of the Regional Directorate of Health in Fes-Meknes, in cooperation with the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of National Education, Primary Education and Sports, and in coordination with the local authorities.
The Awasir Association for Development and Environment organized this awareness campaign for the students of Al-Najah Secondary School, Zerarda Secondary School, Zerarda Primary School, and the Wad Al-Maleh and Wad Lahmar schools. The campaign included sensitization workshops on the importance of vaccination, introducing the dangers of measles (Bohmeron) as one of the most contagious diseases, as well as educating families and students on the need to complete the vaccination schedule.
The campaign also included monitoring children’s health books and conducting medical consultations for students, which contributed to the benefit of about 2,000 students from various targeted educational institutions, in a move aimed at strengthening collective immunity and protecting school health from the dangers of this disease.
