On December 31, 2024, the Citizenship Team in the Fes municipality submitted a letter to the mayor containing a series of written questions for the upcoming session in February 2025, in accordance with the provisions of Organic Law 14-113 and Article 46 thereof.
The questions focused on three main points:
- The status of the Liberty Cultural Complex, which has been a prominent cultural landmark in the city for the past twenty years, with the team requesting clarifications regarding:
- The reasons for the halt in renovation works.
- The administrative measures taken regarding this matter.
- The remaining time required to complete restoration and repair works.
- A request for a detailed report on road improvement works in Fes and the administrative actions taken in this regard.
- An inquiry about the measures taken by the municipality to prepare streets, alleys, and pathways included in the public space liberation campaign currently underway in the city.
The letter was signed by Khalid Al-Bahiyawi Idrissi, head of the Citizenship Team, awaiting responses from the mayor regarding these inquiries during the next session.
It is worth noting that civil, associative, and artistic actors in Fes have formed a coalition to advocate through all available legal means for the revival of the Liberty Complex and thus enhance the cultural and artistic influence of the scientific capital of the kingdom.
