In a remarkable achievement showcasing advancements in science and technology, the AMT CHALLENGIRLS team representing the Taounate Provincial Directorate has secured a spot in the National Robotics Championship. This follows their exceptional performance at the FIRST LEGO League Morocco Qualifier, organized by the Ministry of Education in partnership with the Loop for Science & Technology Association.
The competition featured 40 teams from across Morocco, competing in four key categories: Robot Performance, Robot Design, Innovation Project, and Core Values. The AMT CHALLENGIRLS excelled in two primary categories, clinching first place in Robot Performance and Robot Design, earning them a place in the national championship to be held at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Ben Guerir on February 1st.
The team comprises eight talented students—four from Ain Mediouna Group of Schools and four from Abi Shattah Al-Sanhaji Middle School. They continue a legacy of success, as some members of the current team have previously represented Morocco at the Arab Robotics Championship in Qatar, highlighting the group’s tradition of excellence and skill development.
Supervised by Ms. Safaa El Khalidi and Mr. Mohamed El Amrani, the team’s success reflects the strategic focus on empowering girls in STEM fields, particularly robotics, a domain integral to modern technological evolution.
This accomplishment by AMT CHALLENGIRLS transcends statistics, embodying the spirit of continuity and knowledge transfer between generations. It ensures the sustainability and growth of achievements, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence for years to come.
