As part of the ongoing campaign to reclaim public spaces in Fez, operations reached the “Jnanat” area today, following directives from Mr. Moaad Jamai, Wali of the Fes-Meknes region, to extend the initiative across the entire region. This campaign aligns with ongoing efforts to enhance the city’s infrastructure and reflects the local authorities’ vision for organizing public spaces in preparation for upcoming major sporting events.
The campaign focuses on removing encroachments on sidewalks and public areas previously occupied by cafés and commercial establishments in the region. These efforts aim to improve traffic flow, create a more hospitable urban environment for residents and visitors, and showcase the city’s readiness for future high-profile events.
The initiative has been met with positive engagement from café and shop owners in “Jnanat,” who have shown full cooperation with local authorities and expressed their willingness to adjust their business spaces in compliance with the new regulations.
