Fes News has received several calls from residents of Wafaa Street in the Narjis neighborhood, appealing to Governor Jamai for urgent action to address the problems caused by a neglected plot of land in the area. According to the residents, the plot, owned by a prominent local figure, has remained undeveloped for years after being cleared of soil and surrounded by a wall. This has turned the site into a dumping ground for household waste.
The residents reported that the neglected land has become a breeding ground for insects and rodents, posing health risks and tarnishing the neighborhood’s aesthetic. Wafaa Street is one of the major areas in Fes and is located near the sports complex slated to host important upcoming matches.
Frustrated by the lack of response to their repeated complaints, particularly from those living on Wesam Alley adjacent to the plot, the residents are urging Governor Jamai to take decisive action. They propose either compelling the landowner to complete the construction or using soil from ongoing city repairs to fill the existing pit.
The residents hope their appeal will be met with the necessary response, especially as the city of Fes undergoes extensive preparations for its upcoming sporting events.
