On Thursday morning, a police inspector working in the regional security used his service weapon as a precautionary measure to arrest a 29-year-old man who was in an abnormal state and threatened police officers with a white weapon.
According to a statement by the General Directorate of National Security, the suspect had come to the police station “El Baraka” in Salé, without any administrative requirement or facility request, and started making unintelligible statements before brandishing two knives at the police officers in charge of receiving customers and exposing them to serious threats.
Police officers intervened to avert the danger caused by the suspect, who refused to comply violently after being chased down the main street, forcing a police inspector to fire warning shots from his service weapon to contain the situation, but the suspect ended up being shot in the leg.
The injured suspect was taken to the hospital to receive the necessary treatments, pending the investigation ordered by the competent public prosecution, to uncover all the circumstances, circumstances and backgrounds of this case.
