The House of Representatives Sets Date for Election of Permanent Parliamentary Committee Presidents and Government Presentation of Interim Achievements

The Bureau of the House of Representatives, chaired by Rachid Talbi Alami, held its first meeting after the election of its new members, during which several important decisions were made, including:

  1. Convening a plenary session next Monday to elect the presidents of the permanent parliamentary committees, including the Committee on Justice, Legislation, and Human Rights.
  2. Allocating another plenary session next Wednesday for the government to present its interim achievements.
  3. Canceling the weekly oral question session scheduled for next Monday. The Election of Committee Presidents:

The decision to hold a session to elect the presidents of the parliamentary committees is at the forefront of the priorities of the new bureau to ensure the smooth and regular functioning of the House.

The Committee on Justice, Legislation, and Human Rights holds particular importance due to the significant constitutional responsibilities it carries, making it the focus of all parliamentary groups, especially the Popular Movement and the Federal Opposition, where disagreements persist over its presidency for the remaining period of the current legislative term.

The session for the government to present its interim achievements is part of the House of Representatives’ commitment to monitor its work and hold it accountable for implementing its programs.

This session is of particular importance given the challenges facing the Kingdom, especially in the economic and social spheres.

The cancellation of the oral question session scheduled for next Monday aims to allow for a focus on the election of committee presidents and the government’s presentation of its interim achievements.

Rachid Talbi Alami, President of the House of Representatives, faces a challenging task in resolving the dispute over the presidency of the Committee on Justice, Legislation, and Human Rights, especially with both the Popular Movement and the Federal Opposition insisting on this presidency.
