Rabat – Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmaa, President of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation, and Ms. Rachel Ruto, First Lady of the Republic of Kenya and President of the Voice of Children Foundation, visited Moroccan and Kenyan patients on Tuesday who had benefited from cochlear implant procedures at the Mohammed VI International University Hospital in Rabat, as part of the fourth phase of the international “United, We Hear Better” program and the national “Nassim” campaign.
The visit included Kenyan patients who underwent cochlear implant procedures in Morocco, as well as Moroccan patients who benefited from the national program, in an initiative reflecting the continuation of Moroccan-Kenyan cooperation in the health and humanitarian fields.
As part of the fourth phase of the “United, We Hear Better” program, 100 Kenyan children suffering from profound deafness are benefiting from the initiative, after this phase was launched in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, on November 5, 2025, by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmaa and Ms. Rachel Ruto.
This phase includes cochlear implant procedures for 70 children in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, while Morocco welcomed 30 Kenyan children to benefit from the same procedure and the therapeutic pathway in the Kingdom. The first ten children underwent the same medical pathway adopted for Moroccan patients.
In addition to its therapeutic component, the program enables the transfer and exchange of expertise in the field of profound deafness care, helping beneficiary children discover the world of sounds and regain their ability to communicate, learn, integrate and develop, while also facilitating the transfer of medical and technical skills and expertise.
According to the information presented on the occasion, this initiative is part of a vision based on South-South cooperation and reflects the approach of sharing Moroccan expertise with brotherly African countries, thereby strengthening humanitarian and health partnerships and positioning Morocco as an actor in this field at the continental level.
In the same context, the Lalla Asmaa Foundation continues to implement the national “Nassim” campaign, which is being carried out simultaneously in five Moroccan cities: Rabat, Casablanca, Fez, Marrakech and Oujda, through five healthcare institutions.
According to the same information, the national campaign reached a new milestone, with the number of Moroccan patients who have benefited from free cochlear implant procedures reaching 1,050 beneficiaries, thereby surpassing the threshold of one thousand beneficiaries.
For the first time, the campaign recorded adult beneficiaries undergoing cochlear implant procedures, including a 56-year-old person in Marrakech, as well as two cases in Fez aged 41 and 62 respectively.
The experience of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation extends beyond the national framework. According to the information presented, hundreds of children suffering from deafness have benefited from the Foundation’s expertise and programs. They come from 22 countries in Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, in addition to Moroccan beneficiaries.
This model of cooperation comes within an approach aimed at making Moroccan expertise and experience available to brotherly countries, particularly in the health and humanitarian fields, while the Lalla Asmaa Foundation continues to implement its programs, follow up with beneficiary patients, and maintain partnerships with national and international institutions.
Upon their arrival at the Mohammed VI International University Hospital in Rabat, Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmaa and Ms. Rachel Ruto reviewed a formation of the Auxiliary Forces, which rendered them honors, before they were received by Kenya’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, Jessica Gakiniya, the Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region and Governor of Rabat Prefecture, Mohamed Yaakoubi, and the National Coordinating Wali of the National Initiative for Human Development, Mohamed Dardouri.
They were also received by Ambassador and Director General of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation, Mohamed Methqal, Delegate President of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation, Karim Sqalli, President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Broadcasting and Television Company, Fayçal Laraichi, and President and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Air Maroc, Abdelhamid Addou.
The list of those receiving Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmaa and the First Lady of Kenya also included the Delegate Director of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health, Younes Bajjio, the Director General of the Mohammed VI International University Hospital in Rabat, Abdelmajid Moussaoui, and the hospital’s medical director, Hicham Ben Youssef.
Through its therapeutic and humanitarian dimension, this initiative highlights the continuation of Moroccan-Kenyan cooperation in the field of cochlear implantation, as well as the role played by the Lalla Asmaa Foundation in expanding access to these procedures inside and outside Morocco and strengthening the transfer of expertise in this field.

Rabat – Son Altesse Royale la Princesse Lalla Asmaa, Présidente de la Fondation Lalla Asmaa, et Mme Rachel Ruto, Première Dame de la République du Kenya et Présidente de la « Voice of Children Foundation », ont rendu visite, ce mardi, à des patients marocains et kényans ayant bénéficié d’opérations d’implantation cochléaire à l’Hôpital universitaire international Mohammed VI de Rabat, dans le cadre de la quatrième phase du programme international « Ensemble, nous entendons mieux » et de la campagne nationale « Nassim ».
La visite a concerné les patients kényans ayant subi des opérations d’implantation cochléaire au Maroc, ainsi que des patients marocains ayant bénéficié du programme national, dans le cadre d’une initiative qui illustre la continuité de la coopération maroco-kényane dans le domaine sanitaire et humanitaire.
Dans le cadre de la quatrième phase du programme « Ensemble, nous entendons mieux », 100 enfants kényans souffrant de surdité profonde bénéficient de cette initiative, après le lancement de cette phase dans la capitale kényane Nairobi le 5 novembre 2025, par Son Altesse Royale la Princesse Lalla Asmaa et Mme Rachel Ruto.
Cette phase prévoit la réalisation d’opérations d’implantation cochléaire au profit de 70 enfants dans la capitale kényane Nairobi, tandis que le Maroc a accueilli 30 enfants kényans afin qu’ils bénéficient de la même opération et du parcours thérapeutique au Royaume, les dix premiers enfants ayant suivi le même parcours médical que celui adopté au profit des patients marocains.
Outre son volet thérapeutique, le programme permet le transfert et l’échange d’expertises dans le domaine de la prise en charge de la surdité profonde, ce qui aide les enfants bénéficiaires à découvrir le monde des sons et à retrouver leur capacité à communiquer, apprendre, s’intégrer et se développer, tout en permettant le transfert des compétences et des expertises médicales et techniques.
Selon les données présentées à cette occasion, cette initiative s’inscrit dans le cadre d’une vision fondée sur la coopération Sud-Sud et reflète l’orientation visant à partager l’expertise marocaine avec les pays africains frères, contribuant ainsi au renforcement des partenariats humanitaires et sanitaires et faisant du Maroc un acteur dans ce domaine à l’échelle continentale.
Dans le même contexte, la Fondation Lalla Asmaa poursuit la mise en œuvre de la campagne nationale « Nassim », déployée simultanément dans cinq villes marocaines, à savoir Rabat, Casablanca, Fès, Marrakech et Oujda, à travers cinq établissements hospitaliers.
Selon les mêmes données, la campagne nationale a franchi une nouvelle étape avec un nombre de patients marocains ayant bénéficié gratuitement d’une implantation cochléaire atteignant 1 050 bénéficiaires, dépassant ainsi le seuil de mille bénéficiaires.
La campagne a enregistré, pour la première fois, la prise en charge de personnes adultes pour des opérations d’implantation cochléaire, dont une personne âgée de 56 ans à Marrakech, ainsi que deux cas à Fès, âgés respectivement de 41 et 62 ans.
L’expérience de la Fondation Lalla Asmaa dépasse le cadre national, puisque, selon les données présentées, des centaines d’enfants souffrant de surdité ont bénéficié de l’expertise et des programmes de la Fondation. Ils sont originaires de 22 pays d’Afrique, du Moyen-Orient et d’Amérique latine, en plus des bénéficiaires marocains.
Ce modèle de coopération s’inscrit dans une dynamique visant à mettre l’expertise et l’expérience marocaines à la disposition des pays frères, notamment dans les domaines sanitaire et humanitaire, tout en poursuivant la mise en œuvre des programmes de la Fondation Lalla Asmaa, le suivi des patients bénéficiaires et des partenariats qui la lient à des institutions nationales et internationales.
À leur arrivée à l’Hôpital universitaire international Mohammed VI de Rabat, Son Altesse Royale la Princesse Lalla Asmaa et Mme Rachel Ruto ont passé en revue une formation des Forces auxiliaires qui leur a rendu les honneurs, avant d’être accueillies par l’ambassadrice du Kenya auprès du Royaume du Maroc, Jessica Gakiniya, le wali de la région Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, gouverneur de la préfecture de Rabat, Mohamed Yaakoubi, ainsi que le wali coordinateur national de l’Initiative nationale pour le développement humain, Mohamed Dardouri.
Étaient également présents à leur accueil l’ambassadeur, directeur général de l’Agence marocaine de coopération internationale, Mohamed Methqal, le président délégué de la Fondation Lalla Asmaa, Karim Sqalli, le président-directeur général de la Société nationale de radiodiffusion et de télévision, Fayçal Laraichi, ainsi que le président-directeur général de Royal Air Maroc, Abdelhamid Addou.
La liste des personnalités ayant accueilli Son Altesse Royale la Princesse Lalla Asmaa et la Première Dame du Kenya comprenait également le directeur délégué de la Fondation Mohammed VI des sciences et de la santé, Younes Bajjio, le directeur général de l’Hôpital universitaire international Mohammed VI de Rabat, Abdelmajid Moussaoui, et le directeur médical de l’hôpital, Hicham Ben Youssef.
À travers sa dimension thérapeutique et humanitaire, cette initiative met en évidence la continuité de la coopération maroco-kényane dans le domaine de l’implantation cochléaire, ainsi que le rôle joué par la Fondation Lalla Asmaa dans l’élargissement de l’accès à ces opérations au Maroc et à l’étranger et dans le renforcement du transfert d’expertise dans ce domaine.
