The courts of Fes are imposing harsher sentences on “krysaj” (mugging) and carrying white weapons crimes, with judicial sources confirming sentences of five years imprisonment or more.

In a stern judicial approach aligned with ongoing security efforts, “Fas News” has learned from informed sources that the various criminal trial chambers at the Fes First Instance Court have tightened their handling of cases involving violent thefts or threats with white weapons, known as “krysaj,” as well as cases of carrying weapons in conditions that endanger public safety.

The sources confirmed that recent rulings in these cases show noticeable severity, with prison sentences often no less than five years. This judicial stance aims to achieve both general and specific deterrence and send a clear message to anyone who dares to terrorize citizens and threaten their safety, physical well-being, and property.

This strict sentencing approach complements the intensive security campaigns carried out by the Fes Security Department, which target all criminal phenomena, especially street crimes. This firm judicial policy has been welcomed by the local public opinion, which sees it as a necessary step to strengthen the sense of security and put an end to criminal behaviors that are alien to the Fes community.
