On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, held a telephone conversation with the Russian Federation’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sergey Lavrov.
The talks aimed to continue and strengthen the political dialogue and traditional friendly relations between the two countries.
Both ministers praised the significant progress made in bilateral relations, thanks to the joint will of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, and Mr. Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation.
On the occasion of His Majesty the King’s visit to Moscow in 2016, an in-depth strategic partnership was concluded between the two countries.
In this regard, Mr. Bourita and Mr. Lavrov emphasized the necessity of continuing and deepening the work accomplished since 2016 to cover all issues of mutual interest.
The discussion also touched on upcoming bilateral milestones, especially the ongoing preparations for the eighth session of the joint committee.
Furthermore, the ministers addressed regional and international issues and agreed to continue political dialogue in a constructive spirit based on mutual respect.
